亞洲的生技產業深具發展潛力， 2005年亞洲除了日本外的生技醫藥產業，預估將有300億美金的市場，加上亞洲各國均已將生技產業視為帶領國家發展的關鍵，區域發展生技醫藥產業的環境也日益成熟，未來勢必成為美歐先進生技醫藥產業的主要角逐戰場。台灣位居亞洲正中央核心位置，除擁有獨特且重要之經濟樞紐地位，在生物技術發展與創新上，更是較其他國家領先且突出，產業環境與經濟制度與先進國家亦不遑多讓。未來我國除持續創造具有台灣特色的生技產業，亦希望台灣在此一領域的努力，能夠逐漸為世界肯定，成為各國生技廠商尋求事業發展與成長的最佳策略夥伴。
