In recent years, in the application industries of aviation and aerospace, the automotive industry, mold manufacturing, optoelectronic engineering and in the instrumentation industry, we have seen rising demand for high speed, high precision and high-quality processing. And in order to achieve high-speed precision processing, apart from improved design of the structural rigidity of machine equipment, we must also at the same time have high-speed axis systems and high-speed feed systems, if we are to achieve acceleration of the material machining processes. Ball screws are an important element in correlation transmission, and in technical terms they continue to move in the direction of higher precision, higher speed, higher load bearing and lower noise sophistication. In 2014, global ball screw output was approximately US$1.811 billion, a growth of 1.7% over 2013's US$1.781 billion. And in 2014, although Taiwan suffered the impact of slow economic recovery in Europe and the United States, relative growth in demand in the mainland Chinese market over the same period was 28.1%. Thus the total ball screw production value for the year 2014 in Taiwan was NT$6.704 billion, representing a slight growth of 1.20% over 2013.
