Analysis of the Import & Export of Assistive and Compensational Medical Equipment in 2010

According to the import-export categories assigned by the Customs department and their range of functionalities, assistive and compensational medical device can be classified as: mobility aids, aesthetic or prosthetic equipment and devices used for assisted living. The mobility aids includes manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, electric scooters and related spare parts, canes etc. Aesthetic or prosthetic equipment includes devices for dental and orthopedic application, cosmetic equipment and other prosthetic equipment. Devices for assisted living include hearing aids, pacemakers, contact lenses, artificial hearts and artificial blood vessels etc....
