ECFA’s Impact on Taiwan’s Auto Parts Industry and its Countermeasures

Looking at the auto parts industry in China and Taiwan, the value from the export of auto parts to China was about NTD5.67 billion in 2009, accounting for 4.06% of the total export values of auto parts, as China is the third-largest auto part country for Taiwan’s exports of these products. On the other hand, our import of auto parts from China was about NTD8.69 billion, accounting for 14.47% of the total import values of auto parts, and China is the second largest auto part country for Taiwan’s imports of these products. Seen from the above data, the cooperation between Taiwan and China on auto parts is quite close.
