The production value of the Taiwan food industry was roughly US$5.1 billion during the third quarter of 2010. Production value increased 8.5% from the same period of the previous year, primarily owing to the increase in granulated sugar, processed vegetables, soft drinks, frozen (chilled) seafood and frozen (chilled) vegetables. Production value decreased over 17% year on year, owing to the decline in wind & liquor, grain husking. (Table 1)
