The high-end market for consumer electronics, smartphones and tablets were reaching saturated in 2014. However, the demand for low-to-mid end products picked up and contributed to the overall demand recovery. The change in end-market demand profile was the most critical factor to the varying growth rates of upstream materials.
As the global economy continues to recover at a steady pace in 2015, the demand from end-users for consumer electronics will eventually return. The Taiwanese electronic materials industry posted growth higher the rest of the world, particularly in semiconductor and packaging materials industry，grow 8.4% YoY and 12% YoY.
