Driven by the synchronization of the Internet of Things, the outlook for the global semiconductor industry development in 2015 is estimated to reach US$352.1 billion of market value, at a 4.8% annual growth rate.
The 2015 global GDP growth rate is projected to be 2.9%, slightly (2.7%) higher than that in 2014, showing the continuous stability of the economic condition. This wave of growth has been derived from the US economic recovery and the impact of crude oil prices declining; however, potential malaise behind the slow growth rate are the negative factors of the instability of the Eurozone economic structure and the slow growth of China’s economy. With the recovery of the global economy, the market demand of global semiconductor businesses, including terminal markets of smart phones, big data and the Internet of things, have continued to grow and are expected to reach US$352.1 billion, a 4.8% growth compared to 2014. Among them, the market scale of IC products is expected to be the largest in a row, at US$290.5 billion, accounting for 82.5% of the global semiconductor market, in which the sales of logic products, mainly benefited by the demand and growth of the communications market, has the largest market value, followed by the sales of memory products derived from the demand for smart phone devices and cloud storage.
